National Gallery – FREE. They have a great selection of multi-media art. Spent a few hours on a rainy day here.
ACMI – FREE. The day we visited, there was only one gallery open here about the history of movies/games/animation.
Melbourne Museum – Free for students. Large museum with rotating exhibits on Australian history, animals/ecosystem, and culture. Very informative.
Lune Croissanterie – Pricey but WORTH IT croissants ($9 AUD). I got the almond croissant. The texture was perfect! Crispy, moist, but not too dense, and not burnt. Definitely best croissant I’ve had. If you’re with a friend, split, because each one is quite filling.
South Melbourne Market – Top highlight of my stay! Cute market with amazing seafood stands and several cafes within it. Definitely got my oyster and seafood fix here. (Oysters range from $1AUD to $3AUD a piece and the uni is $5!)
Queen Victoria Market -This one is also pretty cool to check out. It’s bigger than the South Melbourne one and has more produce and different types of stands.
Street Art – There’s a lot of graffiti and street art happening here. There’s Hosier Ln, Hardware Ln, and many others. Keep an eye out on the streets! Here’s some on a wall near St. Ali Coffee Roasters.
St. Ali Coffee Roasters – Cute cozy spot for some coffee and to hangout or read a book. There’s space heaters inside for cold days (it was raining and chilly the week we visited) and a variety of coffee options.
Chin Chin – Asian Fusion/Thai restaurant. Pretty pricey, but the Pad See Ew we got was bomb. Noodles were super fluffy and pillowy.
